Vienna Boys Choir Concert Tour 2016

Vienna Boys Choir is coming to town!  Enjoy a wonderful journey of music by the best-loved choir in the world under the baton of Manolo Cagnin.  Come and witness the angelic voice!

Classical European works by Schubert, Rossini, Mascagni, Verdi etc

The countdown to the first ever HK 'N WIEN MUSIC FESTIVAL has begun. The 6-week long event kicks off with an Opening Concert this 15 July 2016 at the Hong Kong City Hall Concert Hall. Be a part of the 1400 audience to witness the first ever collaborative performance by over 300 students from the Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Hong Kong under the Vienna Boys Choir Academy Choir Program and the Vienna Boys Choir Elementary Program. Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation's international school project is selected as one of the Top 10 Music Headlines, ranking third with 63.6% of votes! Harry and Matthew, first two Hong Kong members of VBC, also came 7th. Thank you very much for your support!!


Professional Training Tour now open for enrolment!

‘Professional Training Tour’ will bring local music teachers, conductors and music undergraduates to Austria, where they will experience how music is taught in the hometown of classical music.

The Tour will be led by Gerald Wirth, Artistic Director of Vienna Boys Choir. For the very first time in its long-standing history, the summer campus of VBC will be exclusively open to the participants for a series of exchange activities. Through participating in the Choir’s rehearsals and engaging in round-table discussion with local pedagogues, participants will unveil the making of the 500-year-old world famous music institute.

Top 10 Music Headlines is an annual event presented by the RTHK Radio 4. Each year, listeners around the world can vote for 10 Top Headlines from a selection of 20. 

This year, Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation's International School Project is selected to be one of the 20 nominations. 2015 is a remarkable year in which Hong Kong has officially become the first overseas headquarters of VBC. We wish to borrow from their education experience and ideals. Through an integration of arts and academic education, we wish to help more students flourish not only in the field of music but also other professions.

Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation Launching Ceremony cum Fund-raising Reception

Under the auspices of the Chief Secretary, Mrs Carrie Lam, and the Austrian Consul General, Dr Claudia Reinprecht, Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation is launched. Mrs Carrie Lam welcomed the Directors as well as distinguished guests at the launching ceremony and gave a speech about the bi-lateral cooperation between Austria and Hong Kong.  Vienna Boys Choir also gave a mesmerizing performance of some Austrian songs as well as a Cantonese folk song 'Moon Light' (月光光) . A Performance of the Radetzky-March concluded the Reception, where the guests joined the performance by using handcrafted champagne-shakers.

Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation in Hong Kong       Foundation breaks new ground in local arts education

A press conference was held to announce the launch of the Foundation. In the press conference, the directorate shared their aspirations and briefly outlined the future plans of the Foundation. Vienna Boys Choir also performed a few Austrian songs under the baton of the first Hong Kong-born VBC conductor, Mr Jimmy Chiang.
