Beethoven from Day to Night – Piano Sonata Marathon

Known as “The New Testament” of music, Beethoven’s works mark the evolution of music from the classical period to the romantic period, ushering in a new age of emotional expression through music. On 19 August, Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas were presented in a non-stop, 12-hour marathon lasting from 10a.m. to 10 p.m. The Marathon featured distinguished pianists, including (according to the order of appearance) Matthias Fletzberger, John Wilson and Lukas Sternath from Vienna, as well as Colleen Lee, Amy Sze, Mary Wu, Raymond Young, Fenix Man and Warren Lee from Hong Kong.
