What is ‘Music Connects’ project?

Noticing the ways in which Covid-19 has been disrupting the study life and social life of children and posing numerous challenges to their parents, VBCMAF is offering the Music Connects Activity Pack together with matching Music Videos and Expressive Art Activities for children aged 5 – 9 to take a break from the current adversity for free and enjoy moments of joy essential to their mental wellbeing and personal growth.

Music Connects 2022 is now open for enrolment!
You may enrol into the project as an organisation or an individual to receive an e-Activity Pack.
Suitable for: Children 5-9 in Hong Kong and their families
*Priority is given to the underprivileged

Music Connects Activity Book
8,200 copies of the Activity Book have been distributed in partnerships with more than 70 schools and social organisations.
e-Learning of Children Music
Professional music videos (produced by the Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy) were provided online free of charge to support the activities in the Activity Book.
e-Learning Devices and WIFI Connectivity
14 tablets were lent out and 2 sponsorship applications for internet connectivity were given, for a duration of 1 year for beneficiaries from low-income families.
Certificate
Certificates were given to active participants, recognising their self-learning initiatives despite the discouraging pandemic situation.
Hotline and WhatsApp Support
Beneficiaries can get assistance on learning via the hotline or WhatsApp.
Exposure and Public Awareness
Project leaflets were sent to all Kindergartens and Primary Schools in Hong Kong to raise public awareness towards the importance of supporting the education and mental health of young children during the pandemic crisis.
‘Harmony of Arts’, the documentary about the Music Connects project, will be premiered on 19 March 2022 (Sat).
